The University of Dallas library has several special collections.

  • Irish Collection - This collection is located on the lower level of the Blakley Building (Periodicals) and books cannot be checked out, but may be used during business hours.  You will need to leave your University ID, or Driver's License at the circulation desk in order to use any books from this collection and the books cannot leave the 1st floor. 
  • Kendall-Cowan Collection - This collection is located on the 3rd floor of the library in the Kendall Cowan Graduate Study Room. While the room may only be used by Braniff Graduate students, however the books may be used in-house by students, faculty, and staff.  Access to the room and collection is controlled by the Circulation Desk. Items in the Kendall-Cowan Collection cannot be checked out. 
  • Limited Editions - Located on the 1st floor of the library, this collection is housed on one whole wall of the library in glass cases.  These books cannot be checked out, but may be used during business hours.  You will need to leave your University ID, or Driver's License at the circulation desk in order to use any books from this collection and the books cannot leave the 1st floor.  
  • Ornithology Collection - Located on the 3rd floor of the library in Study Room 2. Please obtain a key from the Circulation Desk.  These items may be used in-house only and cannot be checked out, but may be used during business hours.
  • Texana Collection - This collection is located on the lower level of the Blakley Building (Periodicals) and books cannot be checked out, but may be used during business hours.  You will need to leave your University ID, or Driver's License at the circulation desk in order to use any books from this collection and the books cannot leave the 1st floor.
